Sometimes a large chasm exists between where we are at in life and where we want to be. And when we’ve come from a place of struggle, or we experience failure after failure, it’s difficult to imagine a better place.
If this is you, then you aren’t alone. Many people feel this way, but they fake it. And sometimes it works to pretend, but many times it doesn’t. So instead of pretending, play the “what would it be like” game:
What would it be like if I were healthy? What would it be like if I could do something I love? What would it be like . . . ?
This question is a smaller step, a forerunner of hope. No pressure. No work. Don’t try to get any answers. Just let it marinate. And see what comes up. So if your big dreams seem overwhelming right now, step back and ask yourself, “What would it be like?”
